I know very little about Steam's corporate side of the production, though it seems a support division is not a priority to them. Very fair point, If all the tickets had to be managed by less than 20 people i would completely understand and agree with the self help method, though i feel steam has adequate resources available to screen these tickets in a much more efficient way than just dumping them into a big queue, which is how this feels. They could put contact support on front page, but people will abuse the crap out of that for the dumbest things, even though there so many answers on the forums, or even within the selfhelp section. No, it's a self help what they're trying to push users to use, because people keep bugging them for something they can resolve themselves, like deleting their own games, asking why game not in library, why game not working, and etc, this way it makes the tickets more simple, and give support better access to tickets that seeks help for something account related issues, or other thing that not game related. They really don't want people reaching out to them, huh? Don't burry the most useful link in the whole support page under piles and piles of self-help crap. the overlay doesn't work half the time too. Restart Steam and check to see if the issue still persists. Type the following command: ipconfig/flushdns.
#STEAM FRIENDS LIST NOT WORKING HOW TO#
Now click on the search bar and type Command Prompt, now click on Run as administrator. How To Fix Steam Friends Not Working Press Ctrl + Alt + Del > click on Task Manager Under the Processes tab, right-click on Steam and click on End Task. I can click my friends on the list, but when i click send message it disappears. In the preferred DNS server put 8.8.8.8 and in the alternate DNS Server type 8.8.4.4.
The patcher is getting updated to work with friends better soon, figured it was time to fix. Thanks for saying where the contact link was. I'm having an issue where the messenger window wont appear. This requires use of the Steam Friends Patcher by PhantomGamers. Originally posted by TheBigWazz:Sent a note to support.
